The last part of the ATPL Visual Identity project (you can find the complete version here) was dedicated to Speculative Design, that is concerned with future consequences and implications of the relationship between science, technology and humans and that problematizes this relation by proposing provocative future scenarios where technology and design implications are accentuated.
To create our six different scenarios, we focused on the situation of women in our current society. In particular, we referred to some news related to post-covid unemployment, which reports how most women lost their jobs.
We selected two axes, gender gap and mass surveillance by the government; the intersection of these axes led to six different worlds, that could manifest in the next 30 years.
In the end we chose to work on "L'ascesa di Marte", a patriarchal society under strict surveillance.
As a result, we designed an "artifact from the future", the SecurityPod bracelet, that is allegedly sold to make women's lives better, when it's actually a device to control them.
